AA Midgets battle to a pair of ties

The Yorkton Hometown Cycle AA Midgets battled to a pair of identical tie games against the visiting Moose Jaw Western Dodge Warriors over the weekend.

Both games ended in a 4-4 tie for the midgets. Each team scored one in the first period, another in the second, and two in the third.

Saturday Wyndon Cyr led the local scoring race with a pair of goals, with Mathew Procyshen and Regan Camrud each adding a goal.

Rhett Reeve had a good game, accounting for three assists, while Jordan Dozorec, Shelby Gray, Dylan Trowell and Justin Stupak each earned an assist in the game.

The Midget Terriers took a 3-0 first period lead into the dressing room after 20 minutes of play in the second game Sunday. They held their lead through the second period with an early goal by Keegan Sharp, just 14 seconds into the period.

The contest proved to be a chippy affair with one 10 minute misconduct handed out to Yorkton and two to the Moose Jaw warriors.

The Warriors came back with a pair of goals in the second and another two in the third to tie the game after regulation time.

Procyshen led the way for the Midget Terriers with a pair of goals and two assists in the game, while Sharp and Brandon Whitehawk each added a single.

Stupak picked up three assists in the game, while Zach Woloshyn, Nick Jonassen and Reeve each earned an assist.

Devon Byblow, in goal for the Midget Terriers for both games, managed to hold off the Warriors to salvage the ties.
