Hometown Cycle Midgets split pair

The Yorkton Hometown Cycle AA Midget Terriers split a pair of road games with the Weyburn Encana Wings over the weekend. The Midget Terriers edged out the Wings 5-4 in the first game of the two game road stand.

Scoring was spread out fairly evenly with Shelby Gray, Regan Camrud, Taylor Schick, Nick Jonassen, and Justin Stupak scoring for Yorkton. Zach Woloshyn, Gray, Chad Taylor, Nathan Shabatura, Jordan Kramer, Branden Whitehawk, Wyndon Cyr and Stupak earning an assist apiece in the game.

Terrier netminder Luke Boechler held the wings to four goals to help clinch the win for Yorkton.

In addition to earning an assist, Taylor also managed to earn the most minutes in the sin bin at 24 penalty minutes in the game.

Yorkton managed to roll up a 4-2 lead after 20 minutes in game two. Weyburn answered with three markers in the second to take the lead. The teams trade one goal each in the final frame to hand the Encana Wings a narrow 6-5 win.

Mathew Procyshen led the scoring for the Midget Terriers with a pair of goals and an assist. Woloshyn, Gray and Keegan Sharp each added a single marker.

Rhett Reeve, Camrud, Shabatura, and Kramer each earned an assist in the second contest.

Devon Byblow, in goal for the midget Terriers saw the game slip away as the Wings managed to slip six pucks by him en route to the 6-5 win.
