The Yorkton Hometown Cycle Midget AA Terriers dropped a two game home stand to the Caronport Cougars at the Kinsmen Arena.

After a scoreless first frame, the Cougars edged out the Terriers 4-2 based on a three goal second period performance.

Keagan Erhardt put Yorkton on the board with a solo marker in period two.

Corey Bashutski, assisted by Riley Currie notched Yorkton’s only other goal in the game. The Cougars dominated game two, winning 3-1 over the Yorkton AA midgets.

The midget Terriers lone goal came off the stick of Brett Profit, assisted by Dalane Lamb and Kyle Scott.

Interim coach Gary Lamb says says he feels the midget Terriers generally played well. “We had some breakdowns and they’re (Caronport Cougars) a very good hockey team,” he states.

He feels Yorkton pressured Caronport in both games. “We had one shift in the third period where for three minutes they never cleared their blue line,” Lamb notes.

“But you can’t give good teams breakdowns because they score,” he adds.

Lamb credits Yorkton goalie Devon Byblow with an extremely good game Saturday.

“As far as I can see they’re (Yorkton AA Midgets) a pretty good hockey team this year,” Lamb closes.
